In the creation of a art poster, why does lithography work?
Lithography which can in some ways be considered art poster creation, works because of the repulsion of oil and water. The image is drawn on the surface of the print plate with a oil-based medium (hydrophobic). The different ranges of these oil-based mediums in the creation of a lithograph are definitely endless, but the quickness of the print creation relies on the fat-soluble content or lipid content of the material being used, its ability to withstand water and acid, after placing the image in the application of a certain acid. The mixture of the two substances is to create a layer of salt surrounding the lithograph layer. The salt layer of the print adsorbs into the stone consistently and completely which develops the original image of the lithograph. This process is called etching.
